About this Coffee

Martha is a classic-profile coffee that warms us up, especially during this cold season. As a filter, it is smooth and easy-drinking, with chocolate notes and a beautiful lingering finish of spices and nuts. As an espresso, it becomes creamy and chocolaty, with a light acidity reminiscent of red apple — perfect enjoyed with a splash of milk.

Originally from San Sebastián, Lempira, Martha Lícida is the eldest of 14 children in a farming family. From a young age, she worked on the farm and developed an interest in trade, selling bread and sweets in her village. Married at 22, she began travelling to Guatemala to buy and resell goods, before a friend encouraged her to venture into coffee growing.

In 1987, she purchased her first plot of land in San Sebastián and gradually built up her production. With support from the exporter Bon Café, Martha has improved her agricultural and processing practices and now stands out for the exceptional quality of her coffee.
