Muinami delivers a cup bursting with flavor, featuring a medium-to-high acidity that recalls berries like blackberry and blackcurrant. It’s sweet like barley sugar, with a beautiful floral finish. So juicy it feels like biting into a pink grapefruit!
In 2015, Stephen Nendela Muinami returned to his childhood land near Eldoret and transformed the family’s sugarcane fields into a small coffee production, exported as a microlot.
Encouraged by this first success, he went on to purchase a second 17-acre farm at 1,900 meters above sea level near Kitale. Located in the Cherangany Hills, in the heart of the Western Rift Valley, this former coffee estate from the 1970s has been brought back to life within a cool, mountainous microclimate.
Together with his wife Lilian, Stephen named the farm Nawiri, meaning prosperity. Locally, however, it is known as Muinami, Stephen’s family name. Organized into terraced plots, the farm brings together different coffee varieties, agroforestry, beehives, and surrounding wildlife. A living place, carefully cultivated, where attention to detail carries through all the way to the cup.
