Located in the Tarrazú canton of Costa Rica, a region renowned for its production of high-quality coffee, the lands of the Blanco Ureña family are situated at an altitude ranging from 1910 to 2010 meters above sea level. Their work is primarily dedicated to cultivating the Catuai Red and Costa Rica 95 varieties.
The coffee we are presenting today, in partnership with our importer Balam, is a Red Catuai. This collaboration marks the fourth consecutive year that we have had the privilege of working with the beans of Don Mariano and his family! This year, you will discover a coffee offering a round and creamy texture as a filter, followed by a lively acidity reminiscent of nectarine and apricot. As an espresso, the nose reveals fruity and slightly fermented aromas, typical of a black honey process. The same creamy texture, nutty notes, and a juicy acidity persist all the way to the last sip.
Don Mariano represents the third generation of coffee producers of his family. A true artisan, he is constantly seeking innovations in the processing of his beans, always striving to improve quality and expand the range of flavors he offers. He and his family form an exceptional team, dedicating their lives to these precious plants and their fruits. Their production may be modest in quantity, but each lot is remarkable, reflecting their unwavering dedication to excellence.
