About this Coffee

This is the first year we've had the opportunity to offer the Proyecto Berruecos lot, produced by 44 small producers from Arboleda. But we've already been supporting this project in various ways for three years — by purchasing Francy Castillo's coffee, a decaffeinated lot bringing together several producers, and last year, a lot from the women of the region.

The Berruecos project is one we absolutely love. It is led by the incredible Francy Castillo, a producer as talented as she is inspiring. She collects parchment coffee directly from small producers at her collection centre. This allows even isolated communities to access the specialty coffee market and obtain premium prices. Francy also travels to villages to assess needs, offer technical support, and provide access to the tools and resources essential for improving day-to-day work. It's truly remarkable to watch her go — with all her humanity and dedication to her community!

This project is about more than quality coffee. It contributes to genuine sustainable development within the industry: better agricultural practices, environmental protection, greater inclusion and competitiveness — with particular attention to producers, youth, and women.
